Obama’s Plan To Run Against The Incumbent
Although the decision may have been born out of desperation, the presumptive Democratic Party’s nominee for the Presidency seems to have come up with a brilliant campaign strategy. It seems the electorate is supposed to rewind the tape and assume that the Obama Presidency never occurred. The key to this strategy is to bestow the label of the incumbent on the Romney/Ryan ticket and hope to claim the role of the outsider for the Obama/Biden ticket. This isn’t as far-fetched as it might at first appear as it is the only role in which the left truly feels comfortable.
Forget what the Obama Presidency has, or has not, accomplished. Forget the devastation and destruction which continues to be in evidence. It’s all someone else’s fault, “those” people’s fault, those people who are always standing in our way. Never mind that we are the ones in power. Never mind the fact that we have been in office for close to four years. Never mind that our policies have failed. We are the outsiders, and thus speak for you, and cannot be blamed for what “those people” do. If only the people of the United States would get out of my way I might actually be able to accomplish what I set out to do. It’s the Romney/Ryan ticket you should be blaming from my multiple failures and the present divisiveness of political discourse. This is a campaign, dammit, and yet they keep harping on side-shows issues as such as my record, my mean-spiritedness, and my disrespect for the office of the Presidency.
Forget that many of those who supported me in 2008 are not even attending the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC. They’re just jealous or have other things to do. By the way, if you wish to attend let me know, along with any number of your closest friends. We need to fill that convention, and we will, no matter what it takes. Want to give a speech? Please contact someone in my office and we’ll see what we can do. Remember, it’s all “their” fault and I need your support to go (back) to Washington for (another) four years of hope and change…
Thank you….let’s throw those people (Romney/Ryan) out……
